The Anthroposophical What is Anthroposophical Nursing? Anthroposophical Nursing extends the traditional art and science of nursing to reflect a more complete picture of the developing human being. This image of the human as an incarnating being of physical body, life body, soul and spirit allows the anthroposophical nurse to address processes not yet fully understood by conventional technology. Anthroposophical Nurses recognize the human being as a spiritual being in a human body. Anthroposophical nurses walk with the patient on his or her unique journey toward healing and know that the healing process ultimately rests within the human being. The destiny and freedom of each individual is respected at all times. The Anthroposophical Nurse provides counseling and guidance to the patient. Therapeutic interventions include compresses, wraps, poultices, rhythmical embrocation, hydrotherapy, and inhalations using medicinal botanicals and other natural substances. In depth understanding of the development of mankind, the four elements (earth, water, fire and air), and the three kingdoms (mineral, plant, and animal) is essential to the practice of anthroposophical nursing. A course of study offers education, mentoring and further study in anthroposophical nursing. |
